Dive into the Story of the Salmon at  Spring Creek National Fish Hatchery
This isn’t just a quick stop, it’s a fascinating window into one of the most important conservation efforts in the Pacific Northwest. At Spring Creek National Fish Hatchery, you’ll discover how
over 12.5 million young Tule Fall Chinook salmon are raised each year, playing a critical role in both ocean fisheries and local ecosystems. Learn how this hatchery helps offset the impact of hydroelectric dams, supports thriving sport fisheries, and partners with Tribes to restore fish populations and preserve a vital cultural tradition. It’s an eye opening, behind the scenes look at the power of stewardship, science, and community.

and yes, it really is a lot of fish!

The White Salmon River

The White Salmon River is an absolutely stunning location for whitewater rafting. The headwaters come out of an aquifer emanating from the glacial runoff on the side of Mt. Adams. You'll witness breathtaking views of Mt. Adams on the drive out, but once we get to the river, you'll be surrounded by the basalt walls of an ancient lava tube! The White Salmon River is undammed from its source to the confluence at the Columbia River after the Condit Dam was removed in 2011.

The river flows through beautiful scenery amid the lush Pacific Northwest forest. From moss-covered rocks and massive spruce, fir, and cedar trees to local wildflowers which seem to bloom in every shade of color throughout different parts of the rafting season, the entire trip is a magical experience.

Throughout the season, there are also different bird populations that appear on the river. Seasonal birds include swifts and swallows, and the birds that stay for the entire season include bald eagles, osprey, hatches, and our favorite river bird, the American Dipper (aka Water Ouzel).

This all-in-one adventure is the perfect blend of adrenaline, natural beauty, cultural discovery, and relaxation. From thrilling whitewater on the White Salmon River to soaking in hot springs, exploring waterfalls, and learning about vital salmon conservation, every moment is designed to inspire and amaze. With hotel pick-up, lunch, and all entry fees included, all you have to do is show up and enjoy the ride.
